Deepak Shrestha Elected President of NNIPA; Ultra Runner Mira Rai Honored In The Occasion

Former Karate Player Deepak Shrestha has been elected the President of Nepal National and International Players’ Association (NNIPA) on Friday.

Along with Shrestha other 20-member executive committee has been elected by the fourth annual general assembly of NNIPA.

Shrestha is one of the most successful karate player of the country who has won two gold medals and a silver in South Asian Games (SAG).

The five vice-president of the committee are Kedarman Sthapit, Deepa Maharjan, Hari Khadka, Kanchi Maya Koju and Deepak Thapa. Shiva Sundar Gothe got elected as general secretary while Manday Kaji Shrestha as assistant general secretary.

Ang Babu Sherpa has retained the post of treasurer.

The members of the excutive committee are: Tika Ram Shrestha, Ramesh Kumar Shrestha, Saroj Shrestha, Dinesh Shrestha, Bhola Silwal, Nisha Rawal, Nabita Shrestha, Phupu Lhamu Khatri, Sirish Gurung and Phul Maya Kyapchyaki.

Ultra Runner Mira Rai Honored

NNIPA also honored ultra runner Mira Rai in the occasion. Rai-who was recently crowned the winner of the National Geography Adventure of the Year 2016, was honored with Rs. 10, 000 cash. NSC Member Secretary Keshab Kumar Bista handed over the cash and letter of appreciation to Rai.
