Tenzing Tsering takes six-strokes lead after the second day of Surya Nepal Western Open, the fourth event of Surya Nepal Golf Tour 2016-17. Tenzing, who is also the member of Nepal national team, carded two-under 70 here at Gokarna Golf Club. He is currently at eight-under 144. Sanjay Lama carded even-par 72 today for a total of two-under 142 to be in the second position. Rabi Khadka scored one-over 73 for a total of even-par 144. He is currently at third position.
Nepal number one Shiva Ram Shrestha turned in a card of even-par 72 for a total of one-over 144, he is at fourth place. Bhuwan Nagarkoti scored four-over 76 for a total of two-over 146. Dhana Bahadur Thapa scored one-over 73 for a total of four-over 148. Deepak Acharya is at five-over 149, he carded three-over 75 today. Bal Bhadra Rai scored five-over 77 today for a total of six-over 150. Amateur Tanka Bahadur Karki and Jayaram Shrestha are inside top ten at seven-over 141, Both carded four-over 76 today.
Tenzing started the day with birdie on the first hole, he added two more birdies on fifth and seventh holes but dropped a shot on the par-3 eighth for two-under 34 on the front nine. On the back nine, he made birdies on 11th and 17th holes against bogeys on 14th and 15th holes for even-par 36.
Sanjay played even-par 36 on both halves. On the front nine, missed a par on the sixth hole but sank a birdie on the seventh hole. On the back nine, he made birdies on 11th and 12th holes but made bogeys on 14th and 17th holes.
Rabi started with the birdie on the first hole but dropped shot on the very next hole, he then went on to make bogeys on fifth, sixth and seventh holes and shot three-over 39 on the front nine. On the back nine he made birdies on 11th and 14th holes to score two-under 34.
Shiva Ram scored birdies on second, fifth and sixth holes but dropped shot on first, seventh and eighth holes for even-par 36 on the first half. On the second half, he scored birdie on the 15th hole against bogey on the 14th hole for another even-par 36.
Bhuwan scored one-over 36 on the front nine and three-over 39 on the back nine.
21 professionals and six amateurs made the cut. Those who made the cut included, Rame Thapa, Pashupati Sharma, Yelamber Singh Adhikari, Surya Prasad Sharma, Purna Prasad Sharma, Deepak Magar, Dhruba KC, CB Bhandari, Krishna Man Rajbahak, Pradeep Kumar Lama, Ram Krishna Shrestha, Kumar Kami and Shiva Ram Poudel. Among the amateurs, Tashi Ghale, Prithivi Malla, Mithun Rai, and Sukra Bahadur Rai survived 36-hole cut.
