Jhapa district wide ladies football championship is starting from Jestha 28 at Surunga.
Kankai Sports Foundation is organizing the championship. Eight teams shall take part in the event.
President of the foundation, Jyoti Upreti said the tournament was organized to help ladies football grow in the country.
“We want concerned authorities to organize the events. This tournament is organized to tell ANFA that there is also girls football in the country”, said Upreti.
The organizers said known players can’t compete in the championship.
“National and international players aren’t allowed to play in the event. We want new players to show their talent”, he added.
The winning team will get Rs 51,000 while runners up team will get Rs 31,000. First prize is sponsored by CA member Ambika Rajbanshi.
The participating teams are Satashidham Sporting Club, Jhiljile, Sunshine Club, Sainik Club, Kerkha, Hosts and Salbari.
