Nepal national cricket team is taking on MCC in a 50-over match at Lords today.
Skipper Paras Khadka remained cautious and told the press that his charges were taking the match seriously.
“Everyone is excited, we will not play as a friendly game. We are preparing for a match against Netherlands. We will go with the best XI”, said Khadka in London.
“There is a huge excitement for us, we want to give our best, its a dream that is about to be true”, added Khadka.
He further added they were awaiting this day anxiously.
“It is going to be a historic event. It’s a great opportunity to showcase our talent at the Lord’s. Once again, its an opportunity to present Nepali cricket in a global platform.
“There is a game of cricket to be played, we have to play good criket. I know that MCC is going to be competitive. Both teams will be going out there to win. We are happy, proud and privileged to get this opportunity. We don’t get to play at the Lord’s everyday. Its a historic moment for all the cricketers and everyone involved with Nepali cricket”, he added.
Nepal coach Jagat Tamatta said it’s a great today for Nepalese cricket.
“It’s a great day for whole Nepal because we are playing there for the first time. There is a challenge as well to do well because there will be a huge backing for us. As a coaching staff, its a proud moment for us to play this game.
“Everything will be historical, even a half century or a century or five-wicket haul. We are eagerly awaiting this moment. We don’t take it as a friendly game and take it as a competition. We were anxious for this day. There is a huge amount of excitement in everyone, and they are eager to do well. Its a dream which we are going to materialise and do well”, added Tamata.
