Madan Bhandari Cricket Academy has been inaugurated today by former Speaker of the Parliament, Subash Chandra Newang. The Academy is under Madan Bhandari Sports Academy.
The Academy is situated at Baneshwor, Kathmandu and is prepared at the expense of 20 lakh Nepali Rupees.
There are three practice pitches in the academy. Pradeep Airee is the main coach and Ganesh Dulal is the coordinator of the academy.
Newang batted in the opening ceremony, where National team’s head coach, Jagata Tamata bowled the ball.
Speaking after his batting, Newang said, “I’ve not that that good inspection of cricket from close, but every time I’ve witnessed I’ve made some memory from it.”
Newang also stated that, the coming government will provide a lot of aid to sports and especially to cricket.
In the same program, the wheelchair cricket winning team were also honored.
The team received 50,000 cash as the reward.
