In an interesting final in TVS Everest Premier League today at TU International Ground, Kirtipur, Biratnagar won the title defeating Bhairahawa in a close encounter.
Winning the toss, Paras elected to bat first and scored 149 in 20 overs losing 7 wickets. Anshuman Rath scored 41 for Biratnagar, Paras Khadka was the other highest scorer with 27 runs. For Bhairahawa, Krishna Karki and Harishankar Shah took 2 wickets.
Chasing 150, Bhairahawa lost first wicket on 19 runs, and it was captain Sarad Veswakar and Prayham Salunkhe who buid the innings for the team. At one stage Bhairahawa looked home and away with the title, but it was captain Paras Khadka who gave the big blow to Bhairahawa, picking 2 big wickets and ketting only 2 runs in 19th over.
Sarad scored 52 runs with 4 fours and 4 sixes, helped by Salunkhe with 30 runs. Paras Khadka took 3 wickets. Paras was named man of the match for his brilliant bowling display.
Biratnagar won series without losing a single game and Bhairahawa lost all the games against Biratnagar.
Winning team Biratnagar received 21,000 USD while Bhairahawa received 8,000 USD.
