While Paras Khadka led Biratnagar Warriors remains undefeated in the league game of TVS Everest Premier League, Sarad Veswakar led Bhairahawa Gladiators has also made it to the playoffs in the tournament.
In the first game played today at TU ground, Kirtipur, Biratnagar defeats Kathmandu Kings XI by 8 runs in a competitive match. Biratnagat given chance to bat first, made 147 with the loss of 7 wickets playing all allotted overs. The duo of Hong Kong again didn’t disappoint, as they both scored runs. Anshuman Rath, the man of the match scored 32 runs and picked 43 wickets while Babar Hayat scored 67 runs. Paras Khadka also scored 26 runs.
Chasinf 148, Kathmandu could only manage, 139 losing 9 wickets, which was 8 runs short of the chasing target. Captain Maharoof scored 42 and Naresh Budayair also managed 30, but was not enough to give Kathmandu the win. With this defeat, Kathmandu now will have to wait and see the results of other teams to progress to the playoffs.
In the second match, Bhairahawa defeated Pokhara Rhinos to book the place in playoffs. Bhairahawa chasing the target of 109, lost only 3 wickets to get it done within 17.4 overs. Aarif Shiek was named man of the match for his 48 runs. Sarad Veswakar also scored 32 runs to seal the victory.
Earlier Israrullah’s 41 runs helped Pokhara post the score of 108. They were bundled out in 18.3 overs while only three players managing the double digit score. For Bhairahawa, it was an all round bowling preformance, with each bowler picking at least a wickets.
The last two games of the league will be played tomorrow where Bhairahawa will play against Chitwan in first game and Lalitpur will face Pokhara in second game.
