Biratnagar Warriors has won their third game in a row and maintained the 100 percent winning start in the TVS Everest Premier League. Meanwhile Kathmandu has lost their 3rd game out of 4 and are in verge of getting knocked out from the first round.
In the first game, Pokhara won the toss and asked Kathmandu to bat fist. Batting first Kathmandu made only 98 in 20 overs losing 8 wickets. Only 3 batsman got to the double digit for Kathmandu Kings XI. Sagar Pun was the top scorer with 36 runs, Raju Rijal made 17 while Sompal Kami made 10 runs. For Pokhara, it was an all round bowling performance. Bikram Sob, Shakti Gauchan and Susan Bhari took 2 wickets each.
In chase for Pokhara, it was Israrullah show again. He was man of the match for this performance in the first game as well and won it today also. He made 45 not out and also nicked a wicket. Sunil Dhamala scored 20 runs for the winning side. Pokhara now has 4 points from 3 matches with 2 wins and a loss.
In the second game of the day, Paras Khadka led Biratnagar Warriors has maintained the winning streak defeating Chitwan Tigers. Biratnagar has qualified for the play-off round with the win today. Winning the toss, Chitwan elected to bowl first and it proved to be wrong. It was the two Hong Kong batsmen show as they scored on their potential and made 178 at the end of 20 overs. Man of the match Babar Hayat made 81 runs which included 5 fours and 6 sixes, and the other Hong Kong batsman Anshuman Rath made 41 runs. Praveen Gupta took 5 wickets for Chitwan.
Chasing 179 in 20 overs, Chitwan didn’t made the start they needed to chase the big target and were bundled out for 103 in 18.2 overs. To restrict them in low total, Basanta Regmi picked 4 wickets. It was Bhim Sharki the top scorer who made 24 runs. With this win Biratnagar has qualified in the play-off rounds, winning three matches out of three.
