Biratnagar breaks Bhairahawa’s run, Chitwan bags first win

Biratnagar Warriors has continued their winning streak in TVS Everest Premier League and Chitwan Tigers manages to win the first game today.

Biratnagar faced the other undefeated team of the competition Bhairahawa Gladiators comprehensively by 35 runs. Avinash Karna was the influential player in the game where he picked up 4 wickets. This restricted Bhairahawa to 114 chasing 150. For Biratnagar, it was again the Kong Kong show, but this time with Anshuman Rath who scored 57 runs. Avinash Karna was named man of the match. Biratnagar sit top of the table with 8 points from 4 games, while Bhairahawa sits third with 4 points from 3 games. Biratnagar has qualified to the play-offs.

In the second game today, Chitwan registered their first win of the tournament, defeating Lalitpur Patriots. Chasing 131, Chitwan were 33 for 4 before captain Dipendra Singh Airee and man of the match Praveen Gupta took the charge and won the game for Chitwan. Dipendra scored 55 and Praveen managed 56 runs. This leaves Chitwan with the chance to qualify for the play-offs, Lalitpur has 2 points from 4 games and so is the situation of Chitwan also.
