Gyan Niketan and Swpna Batika have clinched the title of 1st Saurya Cup Inter-School Basketball Tournament in the girl’s category on Sunday.
In the boy’s final match held at organizers premises, Sinamangal Gyan Niketan defeated Nerik 59-53. Samrat Bhumi scored 32 points for Gyan Niketan.
Golden Peak defeated Nepal Central 37-25 and become third.
Swana Batika thrashed Universal 30-19 in the last match of girl’s round robin league to win the title. Bimal Yedi scored 14 points for winning side.
Manish Tamang and Sharmila Karki of Gyan Niketan and Swpna Batika were declared the MVP in boys and girls category.
Reliance in the boys and Saurya in the girls were awarded the most disciplined team.
Captain of Nepal Basketball Team Sadish Pradhan, FIBA Referee Raj Kumar Maharjan, Principal of Saurya Bhim Hang Limbu and other guests distributed the prizes to the winning team and players.
