Nepal has entered the finals in the first South Asia Badminton Championship in mix team category in Guwahati, India.
Deputy Secretary General of Nepal Badminton Association, Lavwakta Shrestha, said that in the five-nation participant competition Nepal finished second at Round Robin League to reach the finals. Nepal will face India Wednesday for the title. Bhutan, Maldives and Bangladesh are participating in the competition with Nepal and India. India reached the final by being the winner.
Nepal defeated Bangladesh, Bhutan and Maldives by similar margin of 5-0. But lost to India by the margin of 5-0.
Deepesh Dhami, Nabin Shrestha, Gautam Kathayat, Jeshika Gurung, Sanaina Mukhiya and Rasila Maharjan are from Nepal. In the Mix Team Event, there is competition in male and female singles and doubles and mix doubles.
